Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is an effective and long-lasting
treatment for insomnia and is recommended as first line treatment by the
National Institutes of Health and other major medical organizations. I am a
Family Physician who treats clients with CBT-I, and I love seeing people's
sleep and overall quality of life improve during this process. This treatment addresses
the underlying causes of insomnia and has a very high success rate for
significant improvement in sleep, decline in daytime fatigue and irritability, and reduction
or elimination of sleeping pills. Treatment typically lasts approximately 6
weeks, during and after which most people see great improvement.

About me:
Maura Hanrahan, M.D. received her medical degree from the University of Maryland and completed her Family Medicine Residency at East Carolina University. She has been in practice for over 25 years.
In addition to seeing patients with chronic insomnia, she has worked in private practice, at the Salt Lake City Veteran's Administration Medical Center and seeing in-home patients via house calls.
